Measurement Thought Extender Questions, Sentence Stems, & I Can's
Hi there! Here at TeachTransform, we think that there is a lot more to math than worksheets. So we’ve designed products that will capture imaginations and deepen your students’ understanding.
We know that academic language development doesn’t happen by accident. It happens by intentional and continual use
of good questions that students answer in complete sentences. When you put these things together,
you create an excellent environment for your students to develop academic language as they solve
problems.
This resource connects questions that extend students’ thinking about measurement as well as sentence
stems to help them students get “unstuck” and “I can” statements.
The following measurement topics are included:
• Measuring and number lines
• Perimeter and area
• Composite area
• Time
• Measurement conversions
• Volume
The first few pages are one-page summaries of Thought Extender Questions, Sentence Stems, and I Can’s
for each topic. The following pages are cut and carry cards for you to use as you work the classroom.
Thanks a lot for checking us out, and happy exploring!
